20 August 2009

Facebook integration removed

Due to Facebook restrictions on sending invitations we have decided to remove Facebook integration.

17 December 2008

Fixed problem when invitees removed

Response information was being lost if you removed someone from the invitation list - this has now been fixed.

Simplified date confirmation

People were getting confused by the multiple date confirmations. This has now been simplified so that all dates are confirmed for rotas, appointments and sports fixures, with one choice for the best date given for conference calls, etc. When scheduling appointents / filling training sessions, etc., you no longer have to confirm a person separately. They are confirmed when they select their slot.

Simplified grid totals

The availability grid design has been enhanced to make totals easier to see. The best option is now highlighted.

Actions added to step 4

We have added a menu to step 4 allowing availability changes, appointment changes, etc, without having to toggle the icons on the grid.

Reports improved

Reports have been tidied up and some new options have been added.

Email by date allocation

You can now email everyone selected for a particlar date/time slot. You will see these options under 'Send to' on the email form.

19 August 2008

Change to automatic reminders

You can now set up to two reminders per event and options are available in minutes and hours rather than just days.

New display option for some modes

In step 4 you can now show allocated dates by person.

13 August 2008

New general link that can be used by anyone to reply

You now have the option of using a general link so people fill in their own name and email address when they reply, rather than adding invitee details into agreeAdate and sending out personal invitations through agreeAdate. So now you can send invitations from your own email software, post links on blogs, etc and watch the availability grid build up as people reply, therefore saving you time and effort setting everything up.

Advantages

  • Quicker to set up - no need to import or type in names and email addresses
  • People can forward their invitations to colleagues and friends for them to add their availability
  • Can be used in addition to invitations sent through agreeAdate, e.g. from the address book.
  • Can get around any anti-spam problems that occasionally happen when emails are sent through agreeAdate

Disadvantages

  • No unique links in the email mean that you don't have full control over who replies
  • People can amend availability details for other people (though this may be an advantage in some cases)

5 August 2008

No more per-invitation charges or limits

With the basic FREE membership you can now send as many invitations for as many events as you like. Just because your address book is limited to 20 people doesn't mean you can't invite more people to an event - this only restricts the number of addresses you can store for later use.

How do we make any money? Our revenue mainly comes from corporate users and partners who require branded or custom solutions. We don't advertise on agreeAdate and we certainly don't pass your details onto anybody else.

9 June 2008

Improvements to appointment / time slot mode

Visual improvements to the display of people allocated to each date. You can now click on an icon next to the person and manually allocate them to one or more dates if they contact you with a change to their availability.

24 April 2008

No more advertisements!

We used to include adverts at the top of the reply pages. We've decided to remove these so that the experience for your invitees is as clean and simple as possible.

Increased value for money on premium membership

We've increased the inclusive invitations from 50 to 75 for Silver members and from 100 to 150 for Gold members. That means Gold membership is now equivalent to an 80% saving on the first 150 invitations.

23 April 2008

Simplification of meeting confirmations

You no longer have to separately confirm people under a confirmed date when choosing a date based on an availability poll. This is now done for you automatically. Also, when people reply with availability for a confirmed date in this mode, they are ticked as confirmed automatically. So, when using availability mode you can't have a mix of selected and unselected people who are available.

Improvement to reply page

Times on the same date are now grouped together. This makes it easier for respondents to see which date the suggested times relate to.

2 April 2008

Poll facility added

Now you can add up to five mutliple choice questions to your invitations in step 2. These will then be added to the invitation reply form and results are summarised below the grid in step 4.

Each of the five questions can have any number of options, and you can restrict people to choosing just one option or you can allow multiple options to be ticked.

This makes it easy for you to canvas opinion to make your event a real success. For example, you can select the best venue for a business meeting, choose the type of food you want to eat with your friends, choose what game you all want to play on a games night... It's just one more way in which agreeAdate keeps emails and telephone calls to a minimum, saving you time and money.

23 March 2008

Reminder facility added

You can now automatically send reminders to people up to 7 days in advance of their confirmed dates. Just tick the box at the bottom of step 1 and select the number of days in advance you'd like the reminders to be sent. To try it out, you can set up an event with today's date and invite yourself. When you confirm a date in step 4 and save the event, the reminder will be created and will then be sent to you.

Facility added for ignoring daylight savings

One of our users in Arizona pointed out that not all areas there adhere to Daylight Savings time rules. Time zone rules are very complex and the rules keep changing. We've added a new tick box in step 1 and on the reply page so that you and your invitees can turn off automatic daylight savings adjustment if it doesn't apply in your region.

10 March 2008

Personal address book added and changes to contact entry

A new editor has been added for entering invitees in step 3. This makes it quicker to enter the details and also allows you to import directly into the invitation list from CSV, Excel, Outlook, etc.

A new personal address book feature has been added. Address book entries can be picked by group or individually for entry into the invitation list. The size of the address book canbe increased by upgrading your account.

The import facility has been made more flexible to allow simple CSV files to be imported, and contacts can be imported into the address book, invitation list, or both, all in step 3.

Reply page text box moved

Text for the reply page is now entered at the bottom of the email form rather than in step 1. This was moved because people were getting confused as to where this text would be placed.

Reply page now allows you to hide contact details

When you send out invitations, you will see a new option that gives you the ability to include the availability grid but not show the contact details to everyone.
